Hand painted glass yellow and black butterfly ornament.

The life of a butterfly is too short, and they are getting rare, so I decided to make some butterflies that could permanently adorn a houseplant or a plant in the garden. I started by cutting 5 pieces of glass, one for the body and 4 for the wings. Then I painted the black design on the wings with enamel paint and fired it in my kiln. I repeated this procedure with the white dots. Then I stuck copper tape around each piece of glass in order to solder the pieces together. I then made the antenna and attached a rod on the back of it to make it easier to display. This whole process takes about a week. The end result is a lovely butterfly ornament with a long life ahead.
Each butterfly wing is 15.5 cm across, 10 cm high.
It weighs approximately 100 gm.
