First I drew this Celtic design on a sheet of paper. I knew I wanted to make a colourful stained glass piece to hang in a window, so I chose 6 vibrant colours of 3mm glass. They are red, deep blue, green, amber, purple and blue/green. Then I cut 12 pieces of glass in the desired shapes, and ground the edges flat. I put copper foil tape on the edges of each piece and burnished them onto the glass to provide a surface to solder. Then I soldered all the pieces together on both sides, and made a hook for the top out of copper wire. I washed off the flux in soapy water, dried it, and hey presto! What you see is the finished product. This would look gorgeous hanging in a window, and would certainly attract attention.
The hanging weighs 255 grams.
It is 24 cm wide, and 25 cm high.
